Royal Walks in the Garden
Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn wrote this travel diary during her visit to United Kingdom from 4-14 July 1993 following by a brief visit to Swiss Confederation from 14-17 July 1993. Her primary engagement in UK was to preside over the opening ceremony of the 5th International Conference on Thai Studies at School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS), University of London and also attended the lectures at SOAS.
After that, Her Royal Highness visited BBC World Service, British Red Cross Society and many other interesting places such as Kew Botanic Gardens, Wisley Garden and British Ministry of Foreign Affair's Library, for instance. Her Royal Highness also travelled upcountry to Lake District in Lancashire and stayed overnight at local "Bed and Breakfast" in Buttermere and campsite in Grasmere. Later on, Her Royal Highness visited Aberdeen, Scotland where she stayed at The Ellerton's "Craigard". Her Royal Highness also went trekking in Moorland accompanied by Lord Wilson of Tillyorn.
On 14 July 1993, Her Royal Highness travelled to Geneva, Swiss Confederation to visit International Red Cross, Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies, and other places such as Chateau de Penthes and Schonried Dairy Products Co-operative before returning to the Kingdom of Thailand.
