From Saturday 25 to Thursday 30 August 2012 Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn paid a visit to the Federal Republic of Germany and the Kingdom of the Netherlands.

On Sunday 26 August 2012 Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn visited the Rautenstrauch-Joest Museum, visiting the historic Town Hall of Cologne where the Lord Mayor of Cologne greeting the welcome message. Her Royal Highness also delivered the speech. Her Royal Highness afterwards visited the Roman Germanic Museum and Praetorium (Latin for "Governor's Palace"), seeing the excavation site.

Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn afterwards joined in the opening ceremony of the 32nd International Geographical Congress Cologne 2012 in the Cologne Philharmonic. Her Royal Highness addressed the congress participants at the official opening of the IGC 2012 and attending the lectures given by the participants.
