From Saturday 28 September to Tuesday 1 October 2019 Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn paid an Official Visit to the People's Republic of China at the invitation of the Government of the People's Republic of China.

During the Visit, His Excellency Mr. Xi Jinping, President of the People's Republic of China, on behalf of the Government and the people of the People's Republic of China, presented Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn the "Friendship Medal of the People's Republic of China", at an Award Ceremony marking the celebration of the 70th Anniversary of the Founding of the People's Republic of China, at the Great Hall of the People. The Friendship Medal is the highest Award of honours which is conferred on foreign citizens who have made great contribution to the promotion of friendship and cooperation with the People's Republic of China. Her Royal Highness is the one among the six distinguished foreign awardees who are leaders and former leaders of governments, leaders of institutions and educators. On this occasion, Her Royal Highness will see the Exhibition of Achievements over the past 70 years of the People's Republic of China at the Beijing Exhibition Center. Her Royal Highness will also attend the celebration ceremony of the National Day of the People's Republic of China and observe the military parade and mass pageantry at the Tiananmen Square.

Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn departed from Subarnabhumi Airport, Samut Prakan Province, by Bangkok Airways flight number PG1, and will return by Bangkok Airways flight number PG1, scheduled to arrive at Suvarnabhumi Airport, Samut Prakan Province, on Tuesday 1 October 2019 at 18.30 hours.
